Ascension Living Providence Village, located in Waco, Texas, was honored with the senior living and care organization’s 2019 Vineyard Award. A panel of expert post-acute and senior living leaders reviewed all nominations and picked Providence Village as the top performing multi-level senior care and retirement living campus across the 54 locations of Ascension Living, part of Ascension.
Ascension Living’s newly created Vineyard award recognizes a community that has achieved exemplary performance on several measures due to the inspired work of community associates. Measures included associate satisfaction, resident satisfaction, financial performance, and publicly available quality measures. The honor is given to a team who honors the non-profit, Catholic organization’s values and whose behaviors guide and inspire others to enrich the lives of those served.
“The Providence Village team has achieved consistent results including a 4-star Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) quality rating and high resident and family experience scores with 90% recommending it as place to live,” remarked Michael Olmstead, market vice president of operations, Ascension Living. “Because of the leadership team’s dedication to associate satisfaction, the community frequently has the highest participation rates and scores within Ascension Living on associate engagement surveys. While maintaining superior engagement and quality scores, the management team also consistently achieves a positive bottom line. In addition to these impressive performance measures, the community lives out another of core values, caring for those living in poverty - providing among the highest community benefit totals to help those most in need in their community.”
Associates and residents, alike, share a sense of pride in living and working at Providence Village. That is evident in statements recently shared in satisfaction surveys. “I have been an employee here for 28 years and I thank God every day for the opportunity to work for a company,” remarked one Providence Village associate. “I love the fact that we are faith based, non-profit and really feel that what I do daily changes lives and helps the geriatric population.”
A resident’s family member recently shared that she had “visited five facilities in the Waco/Hewitt area and Providence was the best of the best. I am thankful every day that my mother is living here where she is safe and happy. I love the staff and appreciate the love and compassion they show my mother.”
“Every member of the Ascension Living Providence Village team embodies our core values,” said Danny Stricker, chief operating officer, Ascension Living. “Together, they serve their residents with compassion, achieve amazing results and help our organization continue our mission for years to come.”
